Why: This was purchased in the middle of RBNY's 2009 season, one of MLS's losingest seasons of any team, which every Red Bulls fan would just as soon forget.
Comment: I bought this shirt in time to wear to the last game I attended in 2009, but by the time I received it Richie Williams had taken the reigns of the team and were actually able to turn them around, somewhat. It felt weird to be wearing the shirt to a match in the middle of a mini-non-losing streak, so I left it at home.
With Hans Backe, a beautiful new stadium, and many new faces on the roster, the 2010 season started very strongly for the Red Bulls. Unfortunately, this past weekend just saw their fourth loss in a row. Might be time to break out this shirt once again... :(
